On July 30, 2009, the Washington Times broke a news story that effectively torpedoed the high-powered campaign for gays in the military. In an article titled "Is Obama Administration Listening to the Troops? " Base News editor Grace Vuoto reported the results of a previously-unpublished survey done by the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA).
